I first came to this hotel at Digha while on a trip with a couple of colleagues in NSHM Durgapur. I enjoyed the comfort so much, and the ambience was so much to my liking that after a year I again visited Digha with my Mom and sister and stayed at one of the premium family suites that this three-star property offers to its guests.

This was my second visit to Digha, after marriage, with Iman and our second stay at the place.

The most affordable rooms at Le Roi Digha come at three thousand rupees a night, but a stay is money’s worth. You get a nice spacious room, a well-equipped attached bathroom, housekeeping, room-service, and the rooms come with all necessary facilities like air conditioning, wardrobe, writing desk and chair, a TV, a mini-fridge, and tea-making equipments with stationary.

The whole hotel is aesthetically pleasing to the eye with its abstract paintings on bedroom walls, to beautiful chandeliers and solid teak furniture in the lobby and the restaurant. The upholstery is sober and subdued. The hues and tones of this place will relax your nerves and help you unwind.

The in-house restaurant, Salt and Pepper, serves very good and tasty food and is ready with a kid’s menu too, in case we are travelling with small children. Most importantly, there’s a bar corner where alcohol is served at very reasonable rates.

Some snaps from our stay….

A Dol to Remember: Shantiniketan Diaries – Spring 2025

April 6, 2025

This year, we decided to do something a little different for Dol Utsav. Instead of staying back in the city, we—me, Iman, Dodo, and Popo—packed our bags and set off for Shantiniketan. What better place to soak in the spirit of Basanta Panchami than the very land where Rabindranath Tagore turned spring into a festival …

Asansol: A Personal Memoir

“The loves we share with a city are often secret loves”, wrote Albert Camus in his Summer in Algiers. That was in 1936; but it rings true even today in this vastly changed world where we seldom find time to fall in love with people, let alone cities, like Joyce fell in love with Dublin, …

My Trading Journey: What Losses Taught Me, Why I Scalp Without SL, and How Compulsory Waiting Turned Into an Unlikely Gift

Intraday trading is often romanticised as a quick path to wealth, but the reality is harsher. It is considered one of the most difficult professions in the world, and also one of the most rewarding if one approaches it with clarity and discipline. My own journey has been shaped by repeated failures, gradual learning, and …
